Nov 12/13 Summit Point Offer
« on: November 01, 2011, 12:16:17 pm »
Would like to run at this event or at least see car run Time Trials.
Now don't all jump at once, but I am offering Baby Grand to be run there to see what it can do and confirm set up.  And if possible would trade for car for me to do Driving School.  The two are mutually exclusive.  Would be willing to just let car be raced.  This car has run there under SCCA rules which place it with other 4 cylinder cars.  Car has 180+hp and weighs in at 1500lbs with driver.  Has full race suspension with Hoosier slicks and is a full cage/frame construction.  Warning, car is small.  Please PM if your interested.

I'll be there, but I'm afraid someone might have a camera.

The EMRA guys are pretty much a run what you brung group, anything goes as long as it's relatively safe. They do allow race cars in the normal run groups.

No takers  :(

They siad they would do lead follow sometimes but not evough drivers that weekend to do.  Also, Meat Head Racing offers race Miata's, but at $750 a day, a little too steep  : :?  And rental cars appear to be all automatics  :tickedoff:

No takers  :(

Let's see....you crashed the last time out and now you want to find somebody that will...

A.)  Loan you their car to drive on a racetrack
B.)  Drive a wrecked/repaired racecar on summit main with no prior experience in the car and no knowledge of the quality of repairs.

It is shocking that nobody is jumping up to volunteer. ;D

OK Wade, you make it sound a little worse than it actually is.  Car had minor damage to UCA and bolt broke on steering linkage.  New parts installed, better than before, like the bionic man  O0  Body damage was worse part and even that was easy to repair.  And yes familiarity with car is important but I understand that there are practice opportunities on Saturday.  And if the car remembers, it has been to that track before   So do I understand it correctly that you don't want a free ride  :coolsmiley:  Just an offer, didn't think the probably of someone excepting the ride, independent of offering their car, was very likely.

Hopefully will be going back to the scene of the accident for a rerun myself.  12 turns and 2 miles.  This time gear shift indicator for the 6 speed sequential shifter, lower gearing and a few extra ponies.  Still haven't figured out how to make the car longer to reach the brake pedal easier

Must be getting old.  I just reread Wades post.  First he besmirches my driving ability then my mechanic skills  :moon:

Ken...   The part that was missing was the liability part - if someone wrecks your car do they have to fix it?  If you wreck someone elses car are you going to fix it?

I think that (unfortunately) Wade was just stating the obvious.

Question:  Is the photo of the body from before the accident or after the repair?  Looks pretty good.

R3...

Herb wouldn't let me use his bathroom let alone one of his cars!  Everything is on the table for negotiation.  I've helped negotiate billion dollar contracts, this should be a piece of cake, ha, ha!
