Scott - mine is a 6PK1815 Goodyear Gatorback (4060415) - bit as I recall it was a real b*tch to get on... We had to roll the car while in gear to get the belt to roll over tha last pulley - WATCH your fingers - it really hurts when you catch the bit of skin :) I do not remember if we had a breaker bar or not to use on the tension arm.

From the link I posted earlier:

73" sounds about right and while it is tight it doesn't take anything special for me to get in place.

Gates number is K060730.  730 is length in inches, including decimal.  So if you need one longer just increase part number accordingly, ie K060735 would be a 73.5 inch long belt, K060740 - 74 inch and they do sell both of these.  I've been through a lot of blower belts on my truck since I've changed the pulley sizes many times.  Drive the parts guy crazy.

Not that you didn't already know how to decode belt part numbers :coolsmiley:

Ken -
Two is the number of trips -
buy one of each on the first,
return the wrong ones on the second -
works pretty good ...

It's even better to measure using a string and getting it right the first time ;)

Doesn't help...string method usually ends up being a tad too short.

I've made several changes to my setup over the past year and used that method and worked like a charm each time. If you know its a tad short, buy a tad long O0

Well, at least my string gets in the groove. :moon: String method works ok on serpentine belts...V belt...not so good.

Here's a Measurement Method that calculates for the thickness of the belt and measuring string. A 1/2" thick V-belt will be almost 1.4" longer.

Quote
Wind a string around the belt path.

String length:    73"
String cross-section diameter: .0625
Enter V-belt height or belt thickness.    0.5
Stretch factor: (e.g. Enter 10 for 10%)    0%

Belt Cut Length:    74.4"
