Yet another crow remedy?
« on: January 22, 2012, 06:08:03 pm »
Elder,

Ran across this:

Quote
"The following plan is efficacious in ridding fields not only of crows but of smaller birds and even domestic fowl: Make an imitation hawk, using a large potato and long turkey feathers…. Suspend it from a tall, bent pole. The wind will lend it realism by agitating it." -- From Jerry Mack Johnson’s 2011 book Old-Time Wisdom and Country Lore: 1000s of Skills for Simple Living

Don't know if this'll work, but all you risk is your potato, a pole and some feathers....

Enjoy,

Tom

If it looks like a hawk, it will actually attract the crows. They will make lots of noise as they attack the "hawk"...same result if you put out an owl. What you will not see are the song birds.
Elder, my opinion is that you are being set up on this one.

Yes, but if he gets enough crows he won't miss when he shoots at them....

Yep...  I can see you sitting up on the deck sipping your favorite beverage and popping crows on a lazy summer afternoon.  Next you'll need a radio controlled front end loader to go out and scoop up the carcasses.

Let me know when you get set up and I'll bring the GoPro camera over to make videos.  It should mount easily under the barrel.

These last 2 took about the same.  I have 3 more in the pipe and expect at least 6 months wait time.  :(

They are moving to eliminate the CLEO sign off requirement.  When that happens expect the delay to go even higher as they get flooded with transfers from folks that previously couldn't get a sign off.

I don't need a CELO sign off as it is... I'm good to go without it.

Ahh, corp or trust....  That's one way to do it.  I have heard they are taking particular interest in trusts and there may be some issues with those in the near future.

Trust and it's 100% legit so I have zero worries.  If you're interested in a good lawyer to draw up an NFA trust let me know.
