Wanted: 351 intake & carb & dizzy
« on: February 02, 2012, 02:57:36 pm »
If anyone has a intake and carb for a 351 laying around let me know.

Going on a stock motor, so nothing too fancy is required, but accepted.

I don't have either, but if this is for the fox-body, do you need a nice pair of fox 351 swap headers?

I think i gave Scott a Performer Pro intake for his parts collection. Check with him to see if he still has it?

Gnerphing sum-na-beech....

Well Scott says I should mark it up 3,000 percent but 3,000 percent of free is still free.  If it shows up here you can have it otherwise you'll have to retrieve it from Scott...

Wade I certainly do :)

However this is for a different 351, I'm having problem with the computer controlled stuff on my 84 truck. Emissions carb and ignition system are getting replaced and I'm dumping the computer. so i suppose i will also need a distributer if anyone has a stocker, and can buy the other stuff.

Thanks Herb and scott!

I wont be at the VI but i think The old man may be going if not If the Intake happened to make it to Leesburg that's where i work... wink wink.

SOLD...one more item recycled from Cobra Inc.  O0

I'll try to remember to bring it to VI

BTW, get some antique plates for the truck so you don't need the emissions tests.

Its an 84 so I'm exempt already don't need antique tags.

any vehicle 25 years old is considered an antique and exempt from emissions regardless of weather or not it is titled as such.

Per DMV website: http://www.dmv.state.va.us/webdoc/citizen/vehicles/emissions.asp

Motor vehicles exempted from emissions inspections include:

Gasoline powered passenger or property carrying vehicles with a model year that is more than 25 years old before January 1 of the current calendar year.

Vehicles 25 years old or older qualify as antique motor vehicles but are not required to display antique license plates to qualify for the emissions exemption. Although exempt from the emissions inspection, the $2 emissions fee is required when renewing these registrations.

Yes, but you'll still have to do the annual safety inspection.

Thanks wade

Yup, I'm hoping that no one notices a switch from one ignition system to another, but i do intend to keep parts around in case it doesn't pass. The whole antique thing bothers me with the language about only going to genuine car shows etc.. I dont think home depot counts.

Make sure you have the correct gear on the distributor for the cam that you have.  I have a bunch of various cam gears (don't ask why) and if you need one let me know and I'll check if I have the correct one.  I also have a tool for pulling the old gear off.
