Wine Country Cruise

As of early July, this is still in the planning stages. But the event is tentatively scheduled for September 28 or 29. Cobras will cruise to one or more wineries in nearby Va. eventually ending at one for a late lunch/early dinner and of course, some libations.

Depending on available amenities, this may be a BYO picnic or order from the winery menu selections, or both???

Extensive research is underway  ....stay tuned.

I think the discreet use of coolers may be in order for those drinking other than wine.

Here's hoping that you will all vote for the 29th.  Saturday the 28th is a definite no for me.  I will be hosting pre Annapolis Fall Sailboat Show Open House for my company.

This is one run I'd really like to make.  Here speaks a serious wino

Most of the wineries I've visited over there don't offer food.  St. Michel does, but it is gourmet at very serious prices.  Look forward to the results of your research.

I also think Sunday might be better and those who want to go Saturday and spend the night at an Inn etc can join the caravan in the a.m.
I suspect we'll end up at a winery that has some good picnic facilities and a great view.
I hope to find one that welcomes a group of car fanatics and may want to use the event to promo their winery.
We will definitely have people who will bring Beer, Raki, LI Iced tea etc which will be easier to discreetly accomodate if we have coolers with food.

My first recon trip will be this Saturday. Anyone care to join me?

Scott,

Joining you on Saturday is a possibility.  When?  Where?

Gary,
I'll probably leave after the grease up. (I guess we're back at the VI this week.) If it's still hotter than stink, I may take a different car to recon. (the BMW has A/C that works well even with the top down).
