Juke Box Diner, Anandale, Every Friday Night
« on: July 12, 2002, 10:59:25 pm »
Camaro Club hosts an oldies get together similar to Manassas BK every Friday Nite from about 7 to about 9. Location is Juke Box Diner at Bryn Mar Drive in Anandale. The do  this from April through October.

Nice crowd. Pulled up in Cobra, and they pulled the cones aside, waved me in. Got out and about a dozen people kept me busy for about a half hour asking questions about the car. You guys would feel right at home.

About equally divided between Fords & Chevies, turnout I'm told is 30 - 50 cars. Tonight, they had a nice '64 Falcon convert, '66 GT-350, several '65 - '66 Mustangs, and several '57 T-birds. I was the only Cobra there, but ocassionally one shows up I was told. They've never seen more than one Cobra. Wouldn't it be interesting if one Friday night, a half dozen Cobras showed up.

Thought I'd pass this along for potential Friday night activities.

I normally lead a small group for our church on Friday nights, but we have a month long break in August where I may be able to go a time or two.

John,

I don't find Bryn Mar Drive in my street directory. Could you provide another reference point for the Juke Box Diner? :?:  :?:  :?:

It's actually John Marr Drive.  From the beltway, take Rt.236 East about a mile or so.  I believe it is the next big intersection after Backlick Rd.(what kind of a name is "Backlick" anyway?).   You'll see a Pep Boys on the right.  Turn left onto John Marr.  The diner is at the top of the hill on the right.

Caskie and I are going to stop by the Jukebox Diner this Friday evening.  Any other takers??  I'll be the poster car for life before Webers.  Caskie's car can illustrate what can be done with unlimited time and money - and patience.

Hope to see others there.

The Cobra's out of the game for the time being with an oil hemorrage, but would like to do this another time. :(

Have some other business at 6:00PM.  Depending on how long that takes, we will either go to Jukebox or Chick-Fil-A.

The other appointment was cancelled, so we can make it to the Juke Box in plenty of time tonight.  What time is everyone planning on arriving?

John,

May by more like "one" rather than "everyone."   Allen (piloting the Exxon Unique) can't make it due to massive environmental pollution issues, and I don't know if anyone else is planning to show up (John Walsh - any chance?).  I'm coming directly from work and will probablly get there at around 6:30-6:45.

That works for Judy and I.  How about anyone else, Scott the Elder? Rip?

Not bad at all.  John, Judy and I had a good time.  As John Walsh posted earlier, good split between Ford and Chevy, and most of the cars are nicely done.  Many of the same that show up at BK.  And a nice group of people.  The president of the Camero club said that if we want to drop by with 6 or so cars, just let him know ahead of time and he'll hold adjacent spaces.  I have his phone # at home.  The Jukebox has a good menu, and there are fast food places close by as well.  Only real drawback is limited parking.  If you don't get there by 6:30, most of the spaces are gone.

Oops! Need to check in here more often.

Sorry folks. Will check in here more often and see what y'all are doing.

It is a friendlier crowd than Manassas BK. We've been back once. Chow isn't bad at diner, but better choices in local vicinity. We'll be back, the place is 10 min from home. Be even more fun with other Cobras.

What's going on Labor day weekend?
