FYI, last year we had a few "imposters" in the mix...a CSX car and a Contemporary.  ;)  This year, even though it's the Factory Five Nationals, they are officially welcoming ALL MAKES.  So, if any of the non-FFR guys want to go, it's a fun weekend.  Lots of good racing to watch (old stock cars, CMC, American Iron, FFR Challenge, etc.), and lots of good parking lot partying.

It's not hate,, it's==== The FFR spec car is a car BUILT by the owner in most cases from pieces he bought from junk yards, yard sales, E-Bay, and or forums like this one. He or she works on it many hours, sometimes in the coldest of night in a small garage with a space heater that won't heat a outhouse but they finally finish and get to race THEIR dream. It is raced most of the time by the owner who BUILT it...  NOT from someone who went into a dealer's show room and BOUGHT a ready to drive car, like most Z owners and then show up telling us about handling, WOW  like you did the work yourself!!!!!! Plus I know there are many cars that put the Z car to shame,, it's just a matter of $$$$$$$$$$. So forget about the hate line, it's not hate.

Hey Doc, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Wade struck a nerve. But, I'm not so sure his statement is correct. For less than the cost of a Z, a Spec racer with a stock engine wouldn't be a push over for the Z. In fact, I'm not sure who I would put my money on. With a modified Spec racer around the same cost as a Z, I'm inclined to go with the Spec racer, home built or not.

<ding ding> let me chime in here....there are alot of spec racers that are built and serviced by shops specializing in the FFR spec cars.
Donnie something or other in West Virginia builds cars for marcus motorsports and Byan Dobbins motorsports builds FFR spec racers as well to name a couple.

I think the spec racer series is great. I also have respect for any man or woman who can turn respectable laps on a road course.

SO back to the subject matter at hand "FFR @ VIR"

Who is going?

I am trying to make it down for the debut of my CMC mustang. (if the car is ready in time)
I would be honored if some CACC members tried to find me and show their support.   :D
