I wrote this up for a member and thought it might be handy to have posted here:
You have to go to the NEW forum at
http://www.capitalareacobraclub.comWhen you go to that address it might redirect you to
http://www.capitalareacobraclub.com/phpBB2Look in your address bar to confirm this. Another indication is that the old forum ONLY has the club logo. The new forum has the club logo AND 5 cobra pictures across the top.
If you ONLY see the club logo or if the address has phpBB2 in it you are at the OLD forum, not the NEW forum. If that happens you MUST clean out your web browser cache.
Microsoft has written up info on doing this at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/using/howto/customizing/clearcache.mspxFollow the 3 numbered steps under "Cearing your browser's cache" on that page.
Once you've done that go back to this address:
http://www.capitalareacobraclub.comMake sure you are entering exactly that address! Internet Explorer might try to autocomplete the address and add the phpBB2 to the end. If that happens, delete phpBB2 from the end of the address and make sure the address is exactly like the line above.
The forum should look different with pictures of 5 cobras across the top.
Near the top there should be a line that reads:
"Welcome, Guest. Please login or register."
Click on "register" in that sentence.
Proceed to register. You will be registering as a new user.
If, and only IF, you don't see that sentence then you need to find the small triangle to the left of "Home" near the top left of the page. Click on the triangle and it should display the sentence directly under the triangle.
DO NOT use a username with any odd characters in it. Odd characters would be something like & % $ # @ *.
After you have registered you will still need to wait a day or two to be approved.
