The gallery is open (and how to use it)
« on: July 19, 2006, 07:45:12 pm »
It's taking me way too long to migrate pics so instead of continuing to use the old gallery I've opened up the new one for general use.  At this point contributing members are allowed full access.  At some later date I'll take the time to open permissions for non-contributing members as well.

So, hopefully you've already logged in once and have established your account.

The link is http://www.capitalareacobraclub.com/index.php?action=gallery

I'll add a button at the top of the forum so it'll be easier to remember how to get to it.

Sub-albums may be added to the 6 main albums.  If you think there's a good reason to have an additional main album let me know and I'll consider adding it.  At this point everyone has permissions to everything.  Don't abuse this privilege.   :knuppel2: :police:  I won't hesitate to remove rights.     Don't edit or delete pictures posted by others.  Feel free to comment on pics though!  To add a comment you must be looking at the large version of the image.  If you select "Add a comment" while looking at the thumbnails you'll leave a comment for that album and not for any particular picture.

As far as usage goes it should be pretty obvious.  When you're in an album you have permissions to you should see commands listed on the left.  Things like add, edit and delete.  Making a picture a "highlight" makes it the selected thumbnail for the album that picture is in.

Feel free to ask questions in this thread.

How can I add pictures to my new gallery?

Are you talking about this album: http://www.capitalareacobraclub.com/v/album143/album152/

There should be a list of things you can do on the left.  If there's not then I have a problem.  One of the options is "Add Items".  That will let you add pics.

Let me know if you are not seeing that.

I can add a comment, view latest, view slideshow, and view slideshow (full screen).  Is there something I need to do to get add item to come up?

Thanks,
Bob Palmer

Bob,
You need to sign into the gallery one time just like you did for the main forum.  Look at the bottom right of the gallery page.

You need to be a contributing member.  At least at this point that's how I have it set up.

Scott,
I've finally got pics of at least the body of my car. How can I get them loaded to the gallery without being a Contributing Member.

You can't do it directly at this point.  Unless there's a dissenting view in the club it's likely that won't change.

Scott,
I would like to post pictures of my car to the gallery but don't see a button to add an album or photos.  How do I do this?

Thanks for clearing up the "contributing member" part.  How do I get my contribution to Scott?

Scott- I've got some London photos, but cannot see how to create an album or post the photos.  Can the photos be posted directly off the hard drive?  I am a "contributing member"
