Rehoboth Fun Run 2007

Rob,

You set the CACC Fun Run for Oct 5 - 7 right ?!?!?

GUESS WHAT!  We won't be the only cars at the inlet!!  There is a big car show in OC that weekend.  Check out the web site.  It looks like a lot of fun.

October 4-7
10th Annual Endless Summer Cruisin’

Les Veach works for State Farm, who is a show sponsor.  We are trying to coordinate through State Farm some space in their display section for us to pull in and be able to take in the show for a while.  Will know more later.

    How is the autocross coming?  If we can't arrainge that, how about an 1/8 mile drag with a radar gun at the end for highest MPH???? O0

Sussex County Airport shut us down :tickedoff:.  THey would like us to show up for their car show which is in September.  DAFB might be an opportunity, but I don't know anyone there, plus it is in the wrong direction from OC.  The OC convention center parking lot is off limits b/c of the Cruise in Weekend.  I'm still looking.

I do like the idea of a drag race :evil: O0. 

If the autocross falls through, I know a few straigh stretches of road that I used when I was a kid :police: :police:

bob--how about the old delmar drag-strip:  is it still in operation and can it be rented for an event etc?

No way will we be able to use Dover AFB.  In addition to getting everyone onto base, the only space not on the runway or main ramp large enough for us to do it would be the South Ramp.  Since this is part of the flightline, they won't allow us on in our personal cars and especially non DoD members!

The DelMar drag strip is still open.  Not sure what they have in terms of space...also a bit of a drive from the beach.

We may be faced with another issue.  The weekend of October 4th is also greyhound weekend.  It is the weekend of the Ocean City hotrod and custom car show which is really a fun event.  Problem is that since it is greyhound weekend, we would need to book rooms with in the next 30 days and then they may not be able to accomodate everyone at the Holiday Inn Express.  How does everyone feel about that?  Should we considermoving it to the following weekend?  Need everyone's thought on this so that we can make a hasty decision.
