Rehoboth Fun Run 2007 - Saturday Afternoon Activities

Ok guys.  I couldn't find a venue that I thought would make for a decent autocross.  I have 2 other options and would like some feedback.

We could

1.  Go to the OC Car show and hang out.
2.  Go to the Rt 13 Dragway in Delmar.
3.  Go to the OC Car show in the afternoon and the Drag strip in the evening.

If we go to the drag strip, we could make a day/evening of it.  There is plenty of room for us to barbeque and have a good time in the pit area while we all go either against the clock or head-to-head with/without eliminations.  I spoke with the folks there today and found out that they rent the place to groups.  In order to get a price, I need a car count.  Also, I need to know about some of your cars ie engine displacement/horsepower, blown/nitrous, functional roll bars, etc.  They are pretty strict about safety so we will all need to wear helmets.  This is a 1/4 mile drag, not 1/8 mile.

For 4 hours, the price is $1150 for 14 cars.  For 6 hours, the price is $1200 for 14 cars.  If there are more cars, the price is likely to go up $50 - $75/car.  Charlie needs us to give him a car count so he can get a quote from his insurance carrier.

Bob, I think Rob and or Thom will address this pretty soon. I think we are committed to the car show in O.C. We are also committed to going by Secrets for 2 or 3 hrs.

Along those lines ( Roboboth Fun Run), what would the club like to do at Sscrets. Do you want to order off the menue as before or have a buffet set up with the likes of Hot Dogs, Burgers etc. for one set price??  Rob mentioned that we may have upwards of 100 people attending. I think that would be great, however, it's very difficult to tell a restaurant you'll have 100 people attending and then only show up with 50. I would be willing to commit to 50 or 60, then adjust as the date gets closer. When I mentioned the 100 people figure, they recommended we eat in the dico. I said no way, we come there so we can at least look at the water. I will counter (for our eating area) with the area around the outside band stand. Give me your thoughts

To go to the car show in OC, do we have to register?  We went to Cruisin OC this weekend.  They were turning cars away b/c they were sold out.  Glad I pre-registered.

  I just posted this on another post.  I won't be able to make the run this year as Uncle Sam is taking me for 4 - 6 months sometime around mid-August.  I'll be thinking of you guys for sure.
