I'm going to replace my broom handle AKA prop rod with something more in style.....
I was looking at Alan Smiths SPF car and he has one that clicks to hold the trunk lid up, and releases with an upward movement of the lid to allow easy closing.  I think I saw the same type on the FFR cars.  Am I right, and does anyone have a part number and source for this thing?
Thanks,

I think Kevin Moses had something like you suggest.  He has since replaced it with gas struts, so you may want to see if he is interested in selling the prop rods.  They are available from Finish Line and are on page 10 of their online catalog.

Jim,

Unique supplies their newer kits with that kind of trunk lid support.  You might give the Weavers a call.  In fact, as I write this, I think Allen Caskie got one from them to substitute for his broom handle.  Don't know if  he put it in yet.  If he hasn't, it'll have to wait until the Webbers go in.  Saw them yesterday, and now I have a bad case of carb-envy!

Gary,

I surfed over to Finishline and they have them for under 20 bucks each.  I was a little surprised at the low price..... seeing how a set of plastic sun visors with hardware is a cool hundred.  Probably put together an order this weekend.

See ya in a couple weeks.

Jim,

Contrary to what Hughes would have you believe, I got mine from Finish Line as well. I've been quite pleased with it, so far. Of course, it's still in my parts pile awaiting install, but it looks great.--  8)  8)  8)
