Beaver Run track event was excellent.

The CACC representatives behaved themselves with only minor infractions of the rules. The weather was ideal, with the rain clearing out Friday night and 55°-60° temps on Saturday and 65°+ and Sunny on Sunday. Although
Dervish no longer has his Toter home, he convinced his good friend, Gordon Macdowell, to bring his 45' moter home along with his Testarrosa to lap the Beaver.
Condom Boy insisted on camping in his trailer and was delighted when the electric to his man cave was cut off at 3 am Saturday morning. He huddled with Sissy, but I suspect she provided little warmth. Broom-Hilda was still presiding over the Holiday Inn and was canvassing the parking lot for "illegal shenanigans", so we did our drinking Trackside in the Elder-cave and Macdowell moter-home.
Marc brought the Ariel Atom for his first track shakedown.
Dervish was beside himself, since the Atom and the Ferrari received more attention than the Daytona. Of course, One-Lap co-drivers,
Small Ball Flanigin,
Diesel Morales and
Turf Zimmerman came to hone their skills. FOG racing doubled up in the TrakCar with its' spanky new paint and Skunk Stripes.
Elder and
Dervish entertained the viewers with a couple of bumper-to-bumper heats. TrakCar can compete nicely with the 911, but is no match for the lighter and now, more powerful Daytona.
Track times improved steadily over the weekend with final numbers in the 1.13's for the Porsche and LX, 109-110's in the Daytona and Ariel.
Small Ball and
Turf are still arguing over who's 1.15 was quicker, and CB even managed to get into the 1.20's. I'm not sure where Jose or Gordon ended up. But "
Gordini" in the Ferrari was improving steadily and was signed off to Solo by Sunday afternoon. And of course,
Dervish retains his nickname after spinning off in turn 1.
There were a couple of minor mechanical "issues"...the Daytona lost it's fuel supply when a fuse blew during an off-track excursion (
Dervish kept lending his car to the local Hot Shoe who immediately spun it or drove it into the weeds), Trak-Car had some interesting rear axle noises that were cured when the lug-nuts were properly torqued

, Marc Ran out of fuel late Sunday and the Atom refused to re-start.
Small Ball drove the tires off Pound-Sand's 911, literally...he corded the "cheap" rear Michelin Pilot Sports. But Pound Sand kept racing as the rest of us awaited a blow-out at 120 mph. TrakCar nicely fragged the serpentine belt and cut our Sunday short. We think between
Turf and
Elder, we put over 5 hours of track time on the car over the 2 days. CB kept locking up the rear brakes on "88" and is investing in a proportioning valve (and probably some new tires).
Marc finally earned his nickname when he failed to remove the tags from his new race suit...

We've uploaded a sampling of photos...of course this is my favorite...
http://www.capitalareacobraclub.com/v/Cumberland+081806/Beaver+Run+4-08/?g2_page=1This track is very forgiving and safe, and this event is open to all, not just One-Lappers. Hopefully next year we can get others to join us.
