CACC First Annual Chili Cookoff at Cobra Inc.- April 11
« on: February 13, 2009, 10:45:23 am »
After looking at our calendar, there aren't a lot of free weekends open in the Spring. I'm putting this on the calendar as a placeholder until we get a consensus.

The details will be discussed in the planning thread....where we can decide the day, time and other details:

Great!  I'm still down with the Marlboro Texas Red.  Nowadays, you can't smoke the cigarettes, so you might as well eat the chili.

I'm in w/ some "illegal" texas red.   O0

[edit] Wow...just looked at my calendar and it sucks.  April 11, 12, or 19 would be my preferences.

Sounds like fun (aren't all CACC functions all about fun)?  I would be interested.  Whose judging this gala?  What are the judging criteria?  You're not using this event as a way to get rid of the "crow meat" you might have accumulated, are you?  Sorry for all the questions, enquiring minds want to knoiw these things!
Keep smiling, it's just a u-turn from here!

Free Saturday the 11th or 25th or any Sunday also. I will bring a pot of Caskey's chili if he isn't there. If he is there, I make some good beef jerky.

Still plenty of time to get ideas. I will start a thread for planning. Please post your ideas here....

As of now I'm free for all of those dates although the 11/12th would be distant second choice as that is our anniversary weekend.

Obviously I can't make this event, but I do have a multiple winning recipe free to anyone willing to take the time to make it. Takes about 4 hours to cook. This is not your father's (or grandma's) chili.

I don't have a particular recipe at the moment.
I wouldn't mind looking yours over.
