MOVED TO OCTOBER 31-Middleburg Cobra Thunder-
« on: July 30, 2009, 10:28:31 am »
UPDATED 10-13

The town of Middleburg and CACC member, Jack Goehring are hosting the 2nd annual CACC Cobra show-Luncheon at the Back Street Cafe Red Horse Tavern and Scenic cruise and winery tour.

Added 10-07
We completed the recon trip today to finalize the details, here is the are the itineraries:

Note: There are two choices this year.

This year Jack has arranged an optional winery tour and tasting session at Boxwood Winery, one of the premier wineries in VA. http://www.boxwoodwinery.com/This winery is only a 1/2 mile south of Middleburg.
Those not wishing to participate in the tasting/tour session, we have organized a very scenic cruise to Barrel Oak Winery. Barrel Oak was the winery we stopped at last year and many people liked it. They have expanded their facilities and we should have plenty of room to taste their wines and sit down to relax and enjoy a bottle (or three).

  • Meet at Back Street CafeRed Horse Tavern in Middleburg by 12 noon for lunch.(Address: 4 E Federal St,112 W Washington St, Middleburg, VA )
  • Parking will be in a lot near the cafe two blocks east of the Tavern, on Liberty St. between E. Federal St. and Washington St. (We will not be able to park on Madison St. as we did last year.)
  • At approximately 1:30, we will depart to either: Boxwood Winery for the wine tasting or cruise to Barrel Oak Winery. http://www.barreloak.com/
  • Those attending the Boxwood tour-which should take about 30-45 minutes-can then cruise to Barrel Oak and meet up with the other group.
  • Directions for both itineraries have been posted below. Please print them out and bring them with you. We should also have some available at the cruise start. We have also included street addresses for your GPS.
  • If you haven't been to Middleburg before and you're bringing your SO, come early and visit the many shops in town.

I'll be there with Leslie. Is there a map or list of planned stops?
This time I'll bring Gypsy to navigate.

My wife Alison is also a maybe. Maybe someone can create a map of all the stops on Google, save it as "My Maps" and email it around to everyone? I am happy to do it if someone can send me a list of all of the stops. Those that are so inclined can then enter those stops as waypoints into their GPS's. Our last start-up was a map company.....

Count me in - although I'll be in a daily driver as my build will not yet be complete.

Scott - if you want some company planning the route and the winery stops, I volunteer - just let me know.
