There was a good turnout by CACC at the Walter Reed event, despite the unsettled Fall weather.  Only a handful of wounded warriors dropped by.  Cobras got skunked in the popularity contests, yielding "warrior's choice" to some nicely restored Model As.  Doc charmed the knickers off of four generations of females.  It was inspiring to witness.  I drove a GM prototype hydrogen fuel cell mommy van.  The future is heavy and wallows like a pig, and makes little clicking and whirring noises.  It has pretty good straight line acceleration flat to the floor, but comes on like turning on a switch which is not surprising since the fuel cell technology is a means of powering an electric motor.  There was an Audi R-8 and a bunch of SLKs and Black Series Mercedes.  Woody Woodworth brought his purple Mopar 440 6-pack. All in all, a success.

Thanks Ben for sharing pictures and thoughts. I felt that if we made a good impression on the Soldiers that came by and if only 10-20 Soldiers came by, that was better than not doing it at all.
Also Janet said there were around 600 car/stuff magazines donated. Those MIA CACCers that didn’t come, we missed ya.
