My UPS guy, Richard, who has delivered far too many boxes to my house over the duration of my build, stopped by today with a flyer for the 9th annual UPS Car Classic. This is a car, truck and motorcycle show that's held at the big UPS facility on Sweitzer Lane in Laurel (close to I-95 and MD Rt. 198). I went last year as a spectator, and I'd estimate there were a couple hundred cars there, mostly hot rods and customs, but a few classics, sports cars and a Cobra or two.
This year the show is on Saturday, October 17th (rain date is the next day). Registration/set-up is from 8-10 AM and the show starts at 10AM and goes until 5 PM.
If you want to show your car, it's $20. It's $2 if you just want to look around (proceeds go to the United Way), kids under 12 free.
Live music, vendors, stuff for kids, carnival games, dyno competition, etc. etc. Oh, and food ;-)
No web site, but you can contact Jim Lanham @ UPS on 301-390-9085 for details. Vendors should call Nicole Compel-Galie at 301-604-4570.
When I get to work tomorrow I'll scan the flyer and try to post it (although I haven't had much luck posting pics here).
