Cumberland Cobra Cup - [edit] - 2009 FINAL
« on: October 13, 2009, 02:31:15 pm »
Only one event left!  Here's where we are as we head into the Pumpkin Carve event.  Karwan is the only "non-owner" left that can achieve the requisite 6 events for non-owners to be counted in the totals.  The others have been removed already and the points redistributed accordingly.  The magenta colored blocks are current "drops" taking into account our best 8 out of 12 scoring methodology.  These too will be recalculated if necessary after the final event.  Looks like 1st and 2nd are already locked up.

Magenta?  Did you really just use the word magenta?  That's worse than Blackjack telling us his curtains were puce.  A lot worse.   8O

Fred - yes, of course...

Gary - sorry, I occasionally forget that us young guys, in the modern age of computers, are used to seeing cyan, yellow, and magenta mentioned.  We think nothing of the word magenta.  As a guy who's been around since before color-anything was invented, I can see where you might think it's less than manly.  I'll pick a more appropriate color next time...like booger green. :moon:

Gee, Weasel, I'm terribly sorry.  I didn't realize that "young and modern" = "effeminate."  I sincerely appreciate your clarifying that point for me.  And as for the boogers, I like to think of them more as a cross between ecru and viridian.   8)

I'll take that dropped 19, if Fred isn't going to use it.

Detailed account to follow, but so that you can breathe, Wade Chamberlain clinched decisively clinched his iron grip on the Cobra Cub again this year, with a double FTD.  He was the fastest thing alive on both days of the Pumpkin Carve.

Saturday, he squeaked past Jeff Duncan by one hundreth, 44.707 to 44.717  Yesterday, after losing a run to a stray course worker on the track, he used his last ditch last run of the season rerun to great effect, snatching FTD from John Felton's Reynard at the very last moment, 45.9 to 46.2.  This is either Wade's third or fourth Cumberland Cobra Cup; no one is quite sure anymore.

That is only a small taste of a very exciting and eventful Pumpkin Carve we had this year, so stay tuned for the full report with pictures, which will tell all.  Well, maybe most. . .

Here ya go Crunchie....... O0

Brian didn't make six runs required for a non-owner to be included, so his scores were dropped and the #'s re-calculated.  (sorry Brian :(  )

It is Wade's 4th... he won 2006 with 140 pts and in 2007, he beat Fred in the one run tiebreaker runoff after the season ending tie, 137-137.

Yep.  Doug was quiet but deadly this year.  The brand new A6s at the Carve clinched it.
