Hi Scott,

My name is Ed Buczeskie and I am the Event Manager for the Carlisle Import & Kit Nationals.  I’m contacting you to extend an invitation to the show to the Capital Area Cobra Club.  This show is very club-oriented and we take great pride in our club relationships.  The Capital Area Cobra Club used to have quite a few members attend this show but those numbers have dropped off in recent years and I’m hoping there is something I can do to get your club to come back to the show.

The show has really grown from what it was back in 2006 and prior.  Even the Kit portion has grown and I’ve been trying to put additional effort into that side of the show.  I really hope there is something I can do to bring you folks back.  I will also be contacting other Cobra clubs in and around the Mid-Atlantic region so I’m expecting a pretty strong turnout of Cobras – even more than usual.

In case you are not familiar with the event we average over 1,200 show cars (both imports and kits) and nearly 20,000 spectators each year.  In addition to the Showfield we also offer a huge swap meet, seminars and various other activities.  New this year is the addition of the Kids at Carlisle Activity Center (Saturday only).  The show will be held on May 21-23, 2010 and you can get complete details as well as regular updates on the event web site at http://www.carlisleevents.com/ce/events/import/.

Due to our location, size of the facility and size of the event many clubs use the show for their regional and even national meets.  They like the fact that we do most of the legwork and take care of the logistics so all the club has to do is get the members to attend.  We do the rest!  In addition to all of the Cobras, you’ll also be able to enjoy over 1,000 other specialty Imports and Kit Cars.

Another feature of our event is our Club Relations Program.  Clubs that register 25 or more vehicles will be eligible for a FREE 20x20 tent to use for the weekend.  The tents make for a great place to gather, hold club activities, advertise and promote your organization, sell club merchandise, have a cookout and more.  Larger tents are available based on the number of vehicles registered.  If she has not contacted you yet, you can contact our Club Relations Coordinator, Val Stewart, at ValS@CarlisleEvents.com or 717-243-7855 ext 122 for more info on the Club Relations Program.

I hope to hear back from you and I’d be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.  Also, if you are interested, I would be happy to attend a club meeting/function to discuss the show and talk to your members or I could send you some information to distribute at a meeting.  You are more than welcome to email or call me directly at 717-243-7855 ext 131.

Thank you for your time and I hope to see you and your club at the show!

See if he'll throw in a free tent.......  maybe that will get some attendance.  I'm planning a day trip on Saturday

How long a drive is it? I don't know if I will be here, but if I am, I might like to go up for the day too.

We used to have a good turnout and would go up for the weekend. Now most just do a day trip. I guess us "old timers" have moved on to other events.

Check out prior years pix....

It's time for one of you "newbies" to organize the cruise, get a tent and set up "CACC headquarters".

I tried to get us a tent the first few years.  The problem was, some folks wouldn't mention a club affiliation when they signed in....others said "Capital Area Cobra Club"....others said "CACC".  With our #'s spread out like that, we could never get enough to qualify for the free tent.

I generally go for the day, sometimes two days.  However, I'm flexible now.

I received a package from Carlisle Events with a bunch of info on the Kit car show. If anyone wants to take the lead on this and get a club tent etc, I'll give you the package.

FFR #7079 should be driveable/registered by May.  Iffy on if she'll be painted...is that important?  I'll be taking one of the kids as well.

Time to revive this thread. Is anyone interested in heading this up. Saturday worked for most last year as Friday in years past the vendors were still setting up in the morning.
