M & D Automotive Machine Shop
« on: October 04, 2010, 11:56:15 am »
B&B Machine Shop has closed its' doors.  I've had a lot of work done there in the past with good results.  The equipment was purchased by a newly formed company that is located in Purcelville.  Billy, who used to do much of the machining work at B&B is now working at M&D.  Evan and Shawn who did a lot of wrenching at B&B are the principals of M&D.  For those that have been to B&B the new facility is probably 3-to-4 times larger and cleaner and brighter and better organized.  They are a full service shop and can handle most engine machine shop work.  The contact info is as follows:

M&D Automotive Machine Shop
Evan Meyerriecks, President
37251-H East Richardson Lane
Purcellville, VA  20132
540-338-1001

May 25th 2011 UPDATE:  Both Craig and I have had a bunch of work done there and it's all been both good and very reasonable.  They've added another lift and hired an experienced mechanic who will take the load off Sean who has done most of the work for Craig and me.

I also can attest to the quality of work done by these guys. They rebuilt the engine for my Triumph TR4A. They are honest and good. AT B&B the prices were also very fair. I hope that hasn't changed.

I'll be there around noon.  I've got to support a shop that's 30 mins from my house.

Bump, hiccup...  get it back to the top...

Just got Craig's Miata back - 1600 --> 1800 engine swap.  Did a good job.  Now it's going down the street to StingRay's AutoBody for the paint and minor body work.

I can't believe you paid someone to do that engine swap. WTF do you have a lift, hoist, tools and a garage for?

Scott...  We have seven cars that we're working on and sometimes there's just no time for everything.  We actually did the swap and most of the work but when the Saturn (Lemons car) showed up we were out of space so we farmed out the last pain in the ass stuff.  We really have three lifts in three working bays but two of them are generally used as real garage car storage.  Unfortunately I don't have ten garage bays like yhou do.  I'm still waiting for you to pitch in to help me expand my garage but you're just being too damned stingy.

That bay is currently occupied with the track rat.  :knuppel2:

That's not a bad idea since my tools seem to end up living over there anyway...    :idiot2:

Actually, I did a bunch of work on the engine swap in my garage..  Then, work decided to kick in and send me on a bunch of travel.  Thus, we decided to have them finish the work so we could have it ready in time for Cumberland historics..  Or, at least, try..

Well, I rest my case.  If you've got my tools there's no way for me to do the work without commuting to your garage.

By the way...  coming to Cumberland?
