A comfy upgrade

I decided to ditch the old fiberglass and plywood vinyl covered classic seats. These things were not comfortable on long cruises. So, I sourced a set of steel framed leather seats from FFR's Black Friday sale late last year.
Using the existing Breeze seat mounts in the car, I retrofitted some steel plates to bolt onto the seat mounts. The seats are secured with screws through the steel framed seats and into steel rivet nuts in the steel plate. Also, installed nylon spacers between the plate and the steel framed seats to allow room for the seat heater wires. Viola! I'm stoked. These things are a lot more comfortable. They wrap around you more and the seat back is 2" taller.
Here are some progress pics (Sorry, these pics are big. I don't know how to make these images smaller).

I want those seats too, and that's your fault Troy! Very cool!

HA, one more thing to add to your list of things to do. O0
I thought I would share this because some of the CACCers may have the old FFR seats with the Breeze seat mounts and want to upgrade.

Good job Cabana Boy! I had to replace my seats in the former Backdraft as the ridged bolsters would have my right leg numb after about 15 minutes behind the wheel. Replaced them with original knock offs from Finish Line. Felt like a Lazy Boy by comparison. The Superformance seats are also luxurious by comparison.
I know you will enjoy the effort put into the replacements. I also have a left door hinge knee pad, also purchased from Finish Line, that increased my driving position comfort as well.

All I need is the seats, I already have the Breeze seat plates! Maybe next year I'll get them!

Hey CB, yeah these seats are luxurious compared to the old ones. They look pretty good too.

BTW, you can make some decent garage chairs from the old seats...just ask Nathan.

Scott,

Thanks for reminding me. I'll also post in the classified section. Nathan, if you see this post you're welcome to these seats too. Free to a good home.

If the seats are still available I’ll take them. The are really comfortable and would make another good set of garage chairs.
