Carburetor Issues

Went in to Reston Hosp a week ago Wednesday to have a stint put in, woke up shortly after they put me to sleep to be told I needed a triple bypass. Last Friday last case of the day they cracked me open and did their thing I had a rough day or two but am recovering faster than I ever imagined. I came home yesterday, I have been having issues with sleeping, stamina is way down and when I cough my whole chest is racked that pain is hard to take especially since I know it is coming on. Considering what's involved in this type of surgery I am doing good. Bad news no driving for 6 weeks, good news is this should take care
of me for a few more years.

Brian, I feel for you. Heart troubles are no fun, but the technology will have you up and about soon. Get well soon. Hug a pillow when you cough. The driving can wait.

Not to compare stories, but four weeks ago while out for a long run, out of the blue, I had a heart attack. Fortunately or unfortunately when they poked around with a catheter they found my LAD was too big for a stint, so they cleared out my coronary artery with a balloon. So far all is good and it appears that all of the clot is gone.

Interesting that you would compare your heart to a carburetor. I'd think fuel pump, water pump or oil pump might be a better analogy.

Nevertheless.......

Yea, Glad you both were obviously in the right place when the problem was discovered. Get well!!!

Brian, Welcome to the Zipper Club! I joined 2 years ago. Hug the pillow. A reclining chair really helps. You will get a little better every day. Open heart surgery is a miracle! Best wishes.

Ed it is incredible how fast track they and the scar is nothing to see. Though coughing has been rough other than that no pain.
