Joint Base Andrews May Airshow

...Sorry we missed the meeting point at the VI, arrived at 8:35 and left around 8:45. Saw one Cobra parked but figured the convoy may have already left.
We were inside the VI when we heard you driving around. I saw you drive by. I went out to wave you down but you never came back. Only Pete brought his Cobra, but he bailed out and went home. We left for Andrews around 9 am.

I was there with one guest. Saw Frank and went over an introduced myself. I parked in general parking as there was no signs for NAF. We enjoyed the show and left after the Thunderbirds. Thank you again Ken for putting this together.

NAF was just past entrance to general parking, but airforce guys didn't know that. And Larry, you left before the best part of the show, the Blues O0

Yep, seems like we arrived at the same time as Larry, he recognized the car, I recognized the hat :)
I parked at the DOD parking... when we left, took me 30 minutes to find the car lol
No remote honking on the Cobra!

I had a home in Annapolis on the water. On Saturday for many years during June Week the "Blues" practised right over my house. My daughter and I would stand on my balcony and I swore I could see the pilots faces they were so close as they flew by in formation. Much more exciting than the show on Sunday over the the Severn River when they closed the river to boat traffic. And my first and only Andrews air show was when I was 6 or 7 with my father . That could have been 70 years ago.

And Larry, I've seen the Blue at Annapolis and other places. Annapolis from the bridge is a great view, but the show is shorter because aircraft have to operate out of Andrews. Also, on saturday ceiling was getting even lower as day went on. By the time the Blues flew they were operating lower than normal and flew right over us several times. We could almost count the rivets O0 Well almost ::) You still missed a great show, and we thought the same thing about getting out so we took bus to general parking where you were, which is next to the Navy facility as well, and watched the Blues. As you were going through security to buses, if you would have looked to the right you would have seen Navy facility. I believe Jonathan has videos of Blues, maybe he'll share!

I thought the Blues flew out of PAX back then.

Maybe I should have gone and escorted you guys, since I worked that side of the base for 26 years.
Next year.

I know were i was, it was the Air Force guys that didn't have a clue O0

Larry, Blues never located at Pax. Andrews also closer to Annapolis, so less fuel required to transit :burnout:
