Repeating for new Restrictions announced Dec 10:
With the recent restrictions due to COVID 19, I regret to inform you we will have to cancel the cruise.

I started to layout a cruise route, and the new restrictions just announced by Gov. Northam motivated me do some research on what is closed or restricted.

First, in VA the size of gatherings are restricted to 25 10 (See below ) , We already have 22 signed up, and most will have a passenger. So our start point at Cooper School or any stop at Fort Hunt Park are a problem.

Second, in DC the parking lot at the Tidal basin is closed and parking along East Potomac Park is prohibited. (See below) Additionally, one of our preferred rest stops (with bathrooms) near Pierce Mill in Rock Creek park is now restricted to 50 people.

I have no idea what restrictions are in place on Pennsylvania Ave where we park by the Capitol. But I assume the Capitol Police are responsible for enforcing the 50 person restriction.

Gov. Ralph Northam (D) lowered the number of people allowed for gatherings indoors or outdoors from 250 to 25 to 10

Revised restrictions Updated Dec 10:
All Public and Private In-Person Gatherings All public and private in-person gatherings of more than 10 individuals who do not live in the same residence are prohibited. A “gathering” includes, but is not limited to, parties, celebrations, or other social events, whether they occur indoors or outdoors.

These sites are closed until further notice:
All parking south of Independence Avenue SW, including Parking Lots A, B and C on Ohio Drive SW, the Tidal Basin Parking Lot, and street parking on Ohio Drive in East Potomac Park.

Obviously, you are free to do your own thing, but there is no reasonable way to hold our customary cruise with the existing restrictions in DC and VA.
