Hello:

I am a newbie from Leonardtown, MD (Southern Maryland). I just recently joined the Capital Area Cobra Club. I met three cool Cobra Club members down at the "Cars and Coffee" at Bert's Diner in Mechanicsville, MD last weekend. Ken "In Process" was one of them.

I currently own a FFR Mk1 Roadster I bought back in September, 2013. It was originally built in 2002. I am really enjoying it and have put about 2,500 miles on it since I bought it. I still have my driver's license too! I'll post some pictures once I figure out how to do it.

Regards,

Hans

Welcome to the madness Hans. I was one of the "cool" guys  you met at Bert's. Many good guys here ready to help you keep your ride on the road. And always nice to get another southern Maryland member too.

Hey Hans,

Val here; we met at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home car show. You should send me your email. A few of us got together last Sunday and cruised SoMD, ending up at Stoney's Pier in Solomons. If I have your email I can let you know when we plan on doing something.

Yes, Jim I remember you well, but I had forgotten your name. It was great to see three Cobra's lined up at Bert's when I pulled in!

Yes, Val, I remember you too. Here's my work email address... HWelch@tccsmd.org.... Let me know when you guys are doing a local cruise in Southern Maryland. I really enjoy driving the car!

A Maryland contingent of CACC meets for breakfast on Sunday mornings at Bob Evans in Bowie. We drive the Cobras whenever possible, and if the weather looks good for the day we often leave breakfast and drive the back roads of SoMD and end up at Stoney's Seafood at Broome's Island for lunch. These cruises are impromptu and happen whenever we have the combination of good weather and two or more willing participants. Breakfast is at 0800, but we don't depart for our cruises before 0930 for those who like to sleep in a bit more.

Val, this sounds like fun and I'll join in sometime soon. I can't do it this Sunday though... Driving the cars are the best part of the ownership. Sitting in a hot parking lot for hours gets boring quickly!
