To repair damage from a failing main bearing, I just had my 427 disassembled, tanked, block decked (which should have been done by my original builder), heads milled slightly, clean-up overbore on cylinders, reassembled and painted by Simon at Tyson's Automotive Machine in Sterling for ~$3k in labor. (Doesn't include parts that I replaced). So $7k seems ridiculous.....

Replaced 2 bronze gears then went to steel w/ Lunati cam. No more problems.
