Carson And I went on a ride yesterday morning up to Harpers Ferry. On the way back, we stopped at a winery called Breaux Vineyards in Purcellville. It is one of the most stunning and largest wineries I have seen on the east coast. It is about an hour from my house. Look at their website. The driveway is all paved and they can hold up to 200 people in their tasting room. They are have a Blue Grass Festival 9/11
I was think it would be a great stop after a ride up thru West Virginia. Only problem is they close at 6pm. But there is a smaller winery just down the road that closes @ 8:30. We could make it a two-stop ride. If there is some interest, we could plan it for late August or yearly September.
 
Sounds like an excellent outing. Catoctin distillery is in Purcellville as well. Unfortunately, all tastings and tours must be scheduled and are limited to 8 people.
 
Now is the time to plan the drive. My thoughts are we would meet around 10 in the Leesburg area. Drive out towards Shephersdstown or Sharpsburg, have lunch. Head back toward Harpers Ferry and then on to the winery. Anyone know of some good roads we could drive or just change the route altogether?
 
OK, how about the week ends of August 18 and 19, or August 25 and 26. I'm good for both of them, my Cobra is itching to get on the road for a few good miles, before I go to Rehoboth.
Ripper, thanks for suggesting this, lets hope it works for a whole bunch of us.
Chipper, of course you are around, YOU ARE RETIRED!!, or enjoying a nice cruse to the Caribbean, or Europe?! LIFE IS GOOD!!!
 
With not a lot of feed back and not a lot of time to plan, I think the best date is August 26. I will put together a route and post it.
