Northern Virginia Car Club Council
« on: February 11, 2007, 08:41:16 AM »
The Northern Virginia Car Club Council-NOVACCC is made up of representatives of numerous car clubs including CACC.

The stated mission of the NOVACCC:
1. To promote and improve the image of the automotive hobbyist in the Northern Virginia area.
2. To improve the communications and information sharing between member clubs.
3. To allow the various clubs in the Northern Virginia area to be aware of and understand matters affecting our hobby.

They have been very active in monitoring any legislative changes in VA, and are organized to lobby for or against bills affecting the automobile enthusiast. Kevin Moses was elected Treasurer of the council in 2007.

Most recently they were active in modifying a bill that would have required annual safety inspections and yearly registration fees for antique vehicles. Through their efforts, the bill was reduced to a one-time registration fee of $50 and a "self certification" by the registered owner that the vehicle meets the safety requirements for the YEAR OF MANUFACTURE.
