Build Party & First Start (maybe) - Sun 8/24

Hey fellas,

HELP!  Beer, soda & bbq at my Build Party next Sunday afternoon in Arlington, 2pm.  Hoping this turns into a "first start" for the go-cart!(I'll also be doing some prep Friday evening.)  Address & contact info on the Private Stuff page.

The new FFR headers have finally arrived and a first-start should be real close.  Needing for some expert consulting over a few beers to do final preparations and a once-over on....

*  Electrical wiring
*  Priming the oil pump (302 crate engine)
*  Engine timing
*  Rough front-end alignment
*  Water & coolant
*  Fuel flow (carb w/ mech fuel pump)
*  Etc.

All comers are welcome for drinking beer, unsolicited advice, and wrench turning.  THANKS Y'ALL!!!

Okay, I know some of you guys can come by to get my go-cart started this Sunday.  I'll be at the grease-up Saturday to encourage  :knuppel2: and plead for help  :?
And if you reply ahead of time, I'll have much better food for the grill  O0...  And colder beverages :uglystupid2:
Thanks everyone....

Peter,

I may be able to stop by, but this is a soccer tournament weekend, so I'm at the mercy of Saturday's results. As I mention at the grease up, my expertise is in drinking your beer and making useless comments. Anyone of my fellow CACC members can easily take up my slack.

Normally I would come by but tomorrow I'm getting ready for a week long trip to CA.  Actually, I'm probably going to be gone most of Sept and Oct.

Scott,

Are you driving over with your shorties on?
I think it's important to help them get their neighbors properly trained.

Peter,
   Congratulations!  But with Pappy working under the hood, the ominous mushroom cloud of death should have shown itself from your carburator!!  You are the first that I have seen that has survived his "tuning" and had that happen!!

Ah yes...we succeeded in entertaining the rather large group of voyeurs that came to view the inevitable.....

Dan lent a hand....

A little Pinot from the carafe to help the cooling system....

Hector warns Kristin to back away....

One final tweak of the dizzy....

And the first start.....

Excellent photos Scott! That was an excellent ploom of fire! O0 It's always a battle to get the first start, especially when there's so many varibles that might happened. But now, you are past that stage and getting it to the go-cart stage is near. And the next thing you know, the body comes on and it starts to look like a Cobra... What a feeling!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WEAVERS!!

And way to go guys, we definately had some team work in the spirit of Laurel & Hardy kind of way, and it was fun!

Thanks again everyone - what a rush  :D  Whoo-hooo!  You made it possible to laugh through the mishaps. Couldn't have had the great success without you.
See y'all at the VI!
