Installed the carpeting this past weekend. I knew I would dread it, the fumes was really bad, even with a fan facing into the door. On the passenger side, it was definately easier due to the room. For the area where the computer is, the carpet installed there is actually attached to the firewall piece. I cut a 10x14" sheetmetal piece and trunk carpet and glued together. Then I glued the carpet to the exposed metal part of the piece I just made. then I used a sheet metal screw with washer to hold against the side frame just below the computer.
